Whidbey Chamber Singers is pleased to present a special concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 26 in the Sanctuary of Langley United Methodist Church.
The concert will feature some of Whidbey Island’s most accomplished vocal and instrumental artists performing their favorite pieces, including Victoria Chausee, mezzo soprano; Noel Curtis, lyric soprano; Gloria Ferry-Brennan, violinist; Kate Matteson, musical theater performer; Karl Olsen, lyric baritone; Rob Prosch, dramatic baritone; Dianne Vars, pianist; and Sheila Weidendorf, pianist.
Chamber singer and organizer Al Benson said this benefit performance is an important one for the group for several reasons.
“It demonstrates the support we are getting from the island’s artistic community, because it gives our community the opportunity to see and hear these tremendous artistic talents in one venue,” Benson said.
“And because of their generosity, the proceeds from the concert will greatly benefit Whidbey Chamber Singers, as we establish ourselves in our first season as an independent choral performance organization,” he added.
The artists will donate their time and talent so that all proceeds will benefit the Whidbey Chamber Singers, the island’s newest choral performance ensemble, which is a nonprofit sponsored program of Whidbey Island Arts Council.
Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors/military, and $5 for youths; or in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com
