In a few short months, the new wing at WhidbeyHealth Medical Center will be ready for move-in. It has been a labor of love that would never have happened without the support of the Whidbey Island community.
Many photographers have asked about displaying their work in our new space. Thank you! As a public-district hospital, we are here to serve you and so we want to STAY LOCAL and have our healing space reflect the beauty of our island. We agree that photography displayed in large scale will bring the outdoors inside for those who are being cared for while they are ill.
We are asking interested photographers, both amateurs and professionals, to submit images that they would like to have considered for installation. The medical center will produce the photos at large scale (up to 40”x 40”) and would like each photographer to include his or her name and/or website to be printed as a watermark-style signature on each piece. Every photo selected will be acknowledged as the donation of a one-time use of the image, with proper tax documentation and acknowledgment.
We are specifically soliciting photos taken on the island, by local photographers. If you are interested in submitting photos, please email Helen Taylor, executive director of the WhidbeyHealth Foundation at tayloh@whidbeyhealth.org, so we can share the full scope of the project as well as details regarding file size requirements and how to submit.
