You are invited to meet polymer clay artist, Deborah Francis, at Penn Cove Gallery on Wednesday, September 2nd, from 10-5 PM. After many years of working as an artist and teacher in stoneware, earthenware and Raku, Deb discovered polymer clay. Polymer clay opened up a world of color and texture in creating her jewelry and sculpture. She describes her process of working as a “tactile dialogue”. The direction the work takes is guided by her ability to see new and unexpected directions the clay is able to move toward its final form. Textures, shapes and embellishments such as wire, metal, beads and found objects are added to give the work dimension.
Penn Cove Gallery is open daily, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and is located at 9 NW Front Street in Coupeville. Find out more about the Penn Cove gallery at their website.
