Artists of South Whidbey presents check to help fund Artist in Residence Program

At the Artists of South Whidbey meeting on Tuesday, April 12, president Gaylen Whiteman presented Whidbey Island Arts Council president Don Wodjenski and chairperson of Arts in Education, Frank Rose, with a check for $1,000.00 for the Artist in Residence Program. Funding for ASW Community Arts is through sales of cards displaying images painted by members. ASW cards may be purchased on South Whidbey from  Casey’s Arts & Crafts in  Bayview and Callahan’s Firehouse in Langley. The Artist in Residence program matches Whidbey Island K-12 teachers and artists in collaborative Arts enrichment activities for the classroom.
