Artist Bart Rulon will present a demonstration for the Tuesday Jan. 13  meeting of Artists of South Whidbey  at the Trinity Lutheran Community Building at 18341 Hwy 525 in Freeland.

Rulon will show a series of slides demonstrating how he creates his award winning wildlife and landscape art “from the field to the studio.” Starting with sketching and photography in the field, they will cover painting techniques and step-by-step demonstrations of his paintings in watercolor, acrylic and oil.

Rulon’s paintings have been chosen for the Washington State Duck Stamp 2012/13 and the poster for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival 2010. Rulon is the author of five North Light art instruction books, which will be available for sale, along with several of his art prints and cards.

ASW welcomes painters of all levels and media to join their meetings. We begin with a sack lunch at 11:30 a.m. The meeting will begin at 12 noon. Please bring artwork to share or for gentle critique.
