Marcy Johnson will be Artworks Gallery Featured Artist for July. There will be a First Friday reception on July 1, 5-7:30 p.m. with light snacks and beverages. Live marimba music will be performed by the group Sarungano. Other Artworks Gallery artists will be on hand to greet visitors during the reception.

In the past few years Marcy Johnson has focused on a line of hand woven scarves and rag rugs, and she also creates a line of hand-pounded, ethnic-inspired jewelry. Marcy says, “Having focused my interest in fiber arts over the years has given me the enthusiasm and time to travel to many countries studying weaving, basketry and papermaking. These influences are reflected in the ethnic simplicity of my production and creative work.”

Artworks Gallery is located on Greenbank Farm on Whidbey Island. For more information, visit the web site: artworkswhidbey.com or call 360-222-3010. Gallery open daily, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
