Follow the yellow brick road to Whidbey Children’s Theater’s fun and unique production of “The Wizard of Oz,” through July 14 in downtown Langley.
Director Bekah Zachritz hails from Kansas herself, along with costumer and set designer, Kat and Kris Carlson respectively, local artists and Waldorf teachers, who have helped to make this production special. Zachritz and Kris Carlson use chalkboard art to bring a mystical quality to the show, with Kris having designed a backdrop on which the actors continue to draw the background for scenes of the play as they happen in the performance.
It’s all magical fun for the whole family. Take the kids during Choochokam and look for especially priced family shows!
Check out these Lucy Brown photos of the young cast taking the trip from Kansas to OZ and back again. Sarah Rodden as Dorothy, leads the cast of OZ, with Ben Germano as Scarecrow, Ryder Hobbs as Tinman and Chloe Hood as Cowardly Lion. (Lucy Brown photos):
