The City of Langley is conducting a competition between sculptors for the installation and display of two works of art for one year on Second Street in Langley.

The competition is open to emerging and professional artists who reside in the Puget Sound region. The work must be suitable for outdoor installation in stone, bronze, steel or wood. Installed pedestals are designed to support up to five thousand pounds to a maximum of 12 feet in height.

The artists selected will receive a $600 stipend to cover their competition costs and will have the opportunity to sell their work on display for one year. Deadline for receipt of applications is July 1, 2015. Work must be ready for installation in the first week of December, 2015.

For more details and application requirements go to langleywa.org. Using a computer, put your curser on “Residents,” click on “Public Notices,” then click on “Request for Proposal.”
