June 10, 2015
The next Whidbey Island Arts Council Poetry Slam is all set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17 at the Freeland Cafe.
Celebrate Life with Poetry—join Conductor of Fun Jim Freeman, and Hostess of Fun Petite Bryant-Hunt, as the 2015 Island Arts Council Poetry Slam season continues. No poetic experience is required, but fun is guaranteed as the 21-and-up club celebrates life thru poetry, as well as the birthdays of our beloved Robert G. Bryant, Barry Manilow, Dean Martin, and the anniversary of the Watergate arrests.
Free gifts from Freeman’s Freeland shed will be distributed to all those in attendance. Additional prizes will be given to participants writing and reading their poems, created on-the-spot, with words suggested by the audience. Correctly spelled names of the poets will be printed in Freeman’s next column in the Whidbey Weekly.
