Whidbey Life Magazine will be the host and beneficiary of this year’s All Island Book Clubs Gathering, set from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Holmes Harbor Rod and Gun Club on Brooks Hill Road in Langley. All Book Club leaders who have not already received notice should contact Donna Hood at donnahood@whidbey.com  or 360-341-1860 by Jan. 23 to be sure their Club is on the formal notifications list and/or to reserve a table.

The Rod and Gun Club will provide a short menu for dining. A presentation by Sue Taves and the staff of Whidbey Life Magazine will provide attendees with a sneak preview of the upcoming Spring/Summer edition of the magazine.  She will also demonstrate how everyone can obtain access to the Weekly FLASH of local news plus the articles and blogs of more than 26 contributing local writers.

Each Book Club will be asked to select and share its top read from the past 12 months. Best read choices are due by Feb. 1; contact Donna Hood at donnahood@whidbey.com  or 360-341-1860. A printed list of top reads will be provided to all who attend. There will also be a used book sale and a raffle, with proceeds benefitting Whidbey Life Magazine’s annual Arts Grant that supports local art.
