Island Consort opens third season of Early Music!

Island Consort, Whidbey’s resident Early Music ensemble, opens its third season with English Masters—Baroque & Beyond, at  7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Unitarian-Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island. The concert will feature Handel’s Doppio Concerto in c minor for oboe, bassoon and baroque orchestra; Purcell’s Trio Sonata for two Violins and Continuo; Alwyn’s Pastoral Fantasia for Viola and Piano; Elgar’s Romance for Bassoon and Strings; Boyce’s Double Concerto for two Violins and Vaughan Williams’ Songs of Travel with guest soloist, Robert Prosch, Baritone.

Unitarian-Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island is located at 20103 State Route 525 in Freeland. Donations will be accepted.

Island Consort, under the Artistic Direction of Sheila Weidendorf, is an umbrella partner of Whidbey Island Arts Council, a 501C3 not-for-profit organization.
