Fire up the muse at the Hedgebrook Spring Salon

Join the Hedgebrook Spring Salon from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m Saturday, April 27  at the Hedgebrook Retreat, 2197 Millman Road in Langley. Fire up your muse and spend a day in writing workshops with an amazing line-up of women writers, who include:

• Rock n roll songwriter Sue Ennis, best known for co-writing 70-plus songs for the band HEART, including the hits “Dog & Butterfly” and “Straight On.”

• Playwright and Executive Director Amy Wheeler, whose plays have been produced all over the country, and published in the Rain City Projects Manifesto series.

• Award winning novelists Mary Guterson (“We Are All Fine Here” and “Gone to the Dogs”) and Naseem Rakha (“The Crying Tree”), whose stories have been heard on NPR’s All Things Considered.

• Poet, novelist and poetry slam rockstar Karen Finneyfrock (poetry collection “Ceremony for the Choking Ghost” and the young adult novel “The Sweet Revenge of Celia Door”).

Creative non-fiction and erotica writer, Jennifer D. Munro, whose stories have appeared in “Best American Erotica; Best Women’s Erotica” and “The Bigger the Better the Tighter the Sweater: 21 Funny Women on Beauty and Body Image.”

Registration is $265 and includes two multi-genre workshops, continental breakfast, lunch, and a wine & cheese open mic reception.
