Rubini’s work has been described as surreal, ethereal, sensual and translucent. These aspects of her work will be showcased during “La Luce” as they relate to the crucial, life-blood element of all photographers: Light.
Framed prints and acrylics on display will include landscapes, birds and flower studies, all with spiritual undertones.
“At no other time am I more completely present than when I have a camera in my hand,” Rubini said. “Creativity is a direct portal to the divine living in each one of us.”
Rubini’s love of photography has spanned many moons, as far back to when she was a little kid running around with an instamatic, charming neighbors and shooting just about anything that got in her way. Her primary passion is fine art photography, and over the past several years the opportunity to delve into fine art portrait work presented itself, as friends and family who love her style asked her to shoot for them.
Rubini’s work was recently shown at the Whidbey Art Gallery in Langley and at the Rob Schouten Gallery in Greenbank. Her “Brush to Bone” and “Delicate Balance” images have graced the cover of two novels, and “Heather Meadows Staircase” was recently chosen for the cover of Whidbey Telecom’s 2013-14 phone directory.
