Visitors to Downtown Langley businesses will notice signs that say: “Here for You” in most of the windows above the store’s regular summer business hours.
The new program is a collaborative project being done by the City of Langley, the Langley Chamber of Commerce and Langley Main Street Association. Langley Mayor Fred McCarthy notes that “Many people see Langley as a charming tourist destination, which it is. But, it is also is a thriving business community with a broad spectrum of interesting and unusual retail stores and places to eat and drink.”
The Chamber of Commerce has designed a brochure listing the summer days and hours that Langley businesses are open. The brochure is available to download from the Chamber website (http://visitlangley.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Business.pdf), as well as the websites for the City of Langley and Langley Main Street, and it is available at many of the accommodations in the area. Links to these downloads are being sent to members of the Chamber and Langley Main Street and the Mayor’s email list.
Lorinda Kay, Program Manger for Langley Main Street, sees this simple program as a way of letting tourists and local visitors know their business is wanted and appreciated.
