Come See Nick Drummond from the Seattle band The Senate featuring Ehssan Karimi on Hang and percussion, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 5 at Chicken Barn Concert Hall. This dynamic duo have played together as members of The Senate, and now they bring their unique voices and instrumentation together for an intimate and lively concert experience. Nick and Ehssan will be playing some brand new tunes off of Nick’s highly anticipated full-length album to be released in April.
Drummond’s songwriting has been hailed as “Brilliant Dionysian music” by A Prairie Home Companion’s Garrison Keillor, and “An absolutely stellar combination of upbeat alt-folk that’s mesmerizing and radiates talent” by the Seattle Weekly. His songs and stylings defy genre and expectation, but audiences of all ages find themselves dancing along and hanging off every word.
Ehssan Karimi has played drums and percussion all over the world and toured with many of the Pacific Northwest’s top acts. His nuanced and funky playing is easy appreciated by musicians and casual music fans alike, and he brings that skill forward in these concerts, playing a combination of box drum and Hang.
