Penn Cove Gallery is excited to add the colored pencil artwork of Artist Janis Collins to its representation of local talent. Her colored pencil art adds a new art medium to the Gallery walls. Janis has been drawing all her life. She loves the detail and precision of pencil drawings. Her inspiration comes from natural things here on Whidbey: beach animals, shells, boats, birds, plants and trees. She begins her work with a sketch, deciding lighting, form, color and composition, and then gradually shapes it into its final form. While mainly self-taught, Janis complements her self-study with classes and workshops.
