Saratoga Orchestra of Whidbey Island presents a free family friendly musical event in conjunction with the Greening of Coupeville festivities on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The festivities begin at 1 p.m. in the Coupeville High School Commons with a fun and unique Instrument Petting Zoo. Saratoga Orchestra musicians will be demonstrating musical instruments and a number of instruments will be available for a “hands-on” experience for both the young and young-at-heart.

The musical portion of the event will begin at 1:45 p.m. with Music Director Anna Edwards leading the orchestra in a performance of “Peter and the Wolf.” Composed by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936, the timeless story is told by a narrator and characters represented by various musical instruments.

Major event sponsors include Coupeville Festival Association and Front Street Realty. Voting is still open to show your support for your favorite Character and/or Instrument to help underwrite this free event. More information can be obtained at www.sowhidbey.com or 360-929-3045.
