Please join us at Whidbey Art Gallery for an artist reception of original art during the First Saturday Art Walk from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 2. Enjoy light refreshments and meet Diane Tompkinson and other artist members of the Whidbey Art Gallery. View work by these artists and members of the gallery daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

January at the Whidbey Art Gallery will feature original works by award-winning member artist
Tompkinson. She works in mixed media and as a print artist. She will also share her creations, which include frequent subjects such as the birds of the forest and shore as well as saltwater creatures. Diane uses her lifelong study of birds, particularly owls and raptors and their natural enemies. the highly intelligent crow family, as subjects of her work.

January is a good time to wander through the five rooms of the Whidbey Art Gallery and enjoy the treasures you will find. Step into another world as you gaze at mountains, shores, and secret places in the many watercolors, acrylics, oils, encaustics, prints, photographs and mixed media that grace the walls of the gallery. Let your imagination take you to faraway places in the color and light of art.

From whimsical to traditional, embrace felt, clay, recycled parts, glass, metal, sculptural and functional pieces of 3-D art. Treat yourself to that special piece of wearable decorative art made by one of our five member jewelers. Find a special art card for that someone who needs to hear from you.
