Whidbey’s Saratoga Orchestra will hold its annual fundraising event, “Soirée de Printemps—A Taste of the French Quarter,” from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9 at the historic Freeland Hall. Tickets are $75.

Chef Gordon Stewart will feature a menu of Cajun classics including Seafood and Andouille Jambalaya, Pork Grillades and Grits, Poboy sliders and more. Chef Gordon trained in many of New Orleans’ most respected restaurants (K-Paul, Commander’s Palace) under the tutelage of the legendary Chef Paul Prudhomme. Wines from Holmes Harbor Cellars will compliment the menu and Dixieland music by the Uptown Lowdown Jazz Band will get the toes tapping. David Ossman, everyone’s favorite funnyman, will host the evening’s festivities and everyone’s favorite farmer, Dale Sherman, will be auctioneer.

Funds raised will further the mission and programming of Saratoga Orchestra, including the educational outreach opportunities for the island youth. As an added incentive, Island Thrift will match dollar for dollar all funds raised during the event—up to $15,000.
