Inspired Arts is pleased to announce the opening of a one-man show for Mark Skullerud, one of Whidbey Island’s most diverse and dynamic artists.

The show will last through Labor Day with a gala reception to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 8 in our community space. Not only is Mark a phenomenally talented artist, but he is also one of the nicest people on the planet to chat with and learn more about how he creates his masterpieces.

Mark has received over 40 awards in curated and non-curated shows, including nine Best of Show awards. In 2009 a painting titled “Homestead” won First Place at the 50th Edmonds Arts Festival. In 2011, Skullerud received “Best of Show” and “Best Professional” at the Island County Fair Art Show.

Mark Skullerud’s work begins with a series of lines and shapes that eventually lead to an unexpected composition, whether as paintings, sketches, or mixed media pieces.

“Skullerud’s paintings are studies in organized chaos” — South Whidbey Record.

Inspired Arts features the works of over 40 island artists. Summer hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Find us at 1689 Main Street in Freeland at the corner of Main and Harbor. Proprietors are Ron Roesler and Sue Averett. 360-331-2244,
