Get down to Langley for a little pillow talk and music and celebrate Doris Day.
Vocalist Kristi King brings her hit show “Que Será! Celebrating Doris Day” to the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts in Langley at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.
King wears platinum wigs and high-glamour gowns á la that doll, Doris Day, and brings the iconic singing star to life. Enjoy hearing the history of the Hollywood entertainer, her life stories and hear many of the songs that made her famous, including “Que Será, Será,” “It’s Magic,” “Everybody Loves a Lover,” “A Guy Is a Guy,” “Secret Love,” and some more obscure tunes like “If I Had My Life To Live Over” or “Meditation.”
King will be accompanied by the Hans Brehmer Quartet, using arrangements based on the original recordings.
This show is entertaining for both Doris Day fans and those who might like to find out how Doris Mary Ann von Kappelhoff, a sweet, girl-next-door from Cincinnati, Ohio, took the world by storm and became one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
Tickets cost $28. Call the WICA ticket office at 221-8268. Or visit them online at www.WICAonline.com.
