Whidbey Life Magazine stopped by the official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new retail shop and manufacturing facility of Lavender Wind Farm last week.
The shop is located in a 1916 craftsman home in heart of historic Coupeville. After 10 months of renovations inside and out of this stellar facility, owner Sarah Richards and her lavender team are up and running, giving islanders one more good reason to shop locally.
Lavender pumpkin pies and lavender cookies, among other tasty baked goods, are available for holiday meals and other events and can be ordered by phone at 360-544-4132. The shop is at 15 Coveland St. and is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
Check out the shop’s website at http://www.lavenderwind.com to find out about candle and soap-making classes and all about cooking with lavender. The farm on Ebey’s Historical Reserve near West Beach is now closed to visitors until sometime in May 2013.
