March 3, 2014
March is coming in like a snow leopard…a snow leopard that has been stealthily lurking about in the rain, and then comes in to shake its wet fur all over the living room, just before it gets up on the new couch.
Fortunately, this month’s Virtual Gallery has the perfect antidote to gloom and rain. We refuse to wait for May flowers, not even April blooms. Our featured artists for March are watercolorist Kay Parsons and photographer Louie Rochon.
Parsons’ luminous floral watercolor paintings are so real and beautifully composed that you can almost detect a flower’s fragrance as you view them. Rochon’s photographs go one step further, as they zoom in on the flowers, creating abstract compositions that combine vibrant color with their organic beginnings, creating a new universe to explore.
Visit the WLM Virtual Gallery show here and find out more about these artists later this month when their stories publish on Whidbey Life Magazine.
