Summer Acting Intensive with Whidbey Children’s Theater and Island Shakespeare Festival, Audtions June 10

Classic Conservatory for Young Adults is a summer Acting Intensive on Whidbey Island for ages 15 – 20. Join the CCYA 2016 Team in the Blackbox at WCT on Friday, June 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. for an Open Workshop Audition for this year’s program!

Attendees will get to know this year’s director, Kylie McKenzie Soder and hear her vision for the production of “Twelfth Night” by William Shakespeare. Also get to know Program Coordinator and ISF Company Member Valerie Huntington, hear about this year’s classes (Stage Combat, Clown, Mask, Voice, Movement, Scene Study) and teachers, and work some theatre exercises.

Tuition is $500 upon acceptance into the program. The program will run July 25 to August 21. See the full program schedule at: www.wctmagic.org/ccya.

CCYA Video Application

Interested participants may also provide a video application according to the following guidelines:

Please state your name, that you are auditioning for CCYA 2016 and why you are interested in this play/program. Please film with your whole body in the frame and include the character and play of the monologue you are performing.

Monologue: Actors are asked to prepare a Shakespeare monologue (60 seconds or less) and a short a cappella song. Monologues are not required to be gender-specific or “uncommon.” Choose something that you connect with on a deep level. You may also provide examples of musical instruments you play.
