WICA’s Fine Art Exhibit opens on Friday, Dec. 4

WICA Fine Art Exhibits Committee presents Portraits, The Art of Karin Bolstad. The opening reception will take place in the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts Lobby from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4. This reception is free and open to the public. The exhibit featuring the art of Karin Bolstad includes her Gothic Romance Series. The exhibit shows in connection with the Theatre Series production, “The Adams Family” from Dec. 4 to 19.

A graduate of Western Washington University in Illustration and Design, Karin Bolstad later pursued visual art at the Gage Academy, the Pratt and Icon Arts. She has shown in Seattle and Whidbey since 2006 and is currently painting and teaching at Blueschool Arts on Whidbey Island. (http://blueschoolarts.com)

Working in many mediums, Karin’s subjects are influenced by turn of the century illustration and Byzantine Iconography. She often embellishes her work with antique papers, fabrics, jewelry, bits of nature and whatever catches her fancy. http://karinbolstad.com.
